I want to help people learn. As someone who has been surrounded by math all my life I understand the pain of not understanding. That said, there is only one thing more satisfying to me than having the solution to a problem unfold before my eyes, and that is helping someone else experience the same awakening.
Understanding math is so often an unnecessarily painful process, but with the proper help and guidance it can be a wonderfully insightful experience. I have seen too many people suffer through terrible teachers and tedious meaningless work. I know that hours of struggling can be averted by a few helpful hints from someone patient and knowledgeable. Let me be that person for you or your child. Let me help them, and guide them in a personalized way that simply cannot occur in a large classroom full of people.
I am working towards putting an end to the mindset "I'm just not a math person". Too many people have adopted this mantra after being abandoned by a school system that is unable or unwilling to adapt their teaching methods to the unique needs of a student and I want to do my part to fix this.
